Descriptive Agenda:
The title for this year's brand event is "Triple B-Baltimore: Once Upon
a Brand". Everything about this year's event is centered around telling
your story to further your brand.
Headquarters for our brand immersion experience is the Admiral
Fell Inn located in Baltimore's Fells
Point. Fells Point is full of charm and history, interesting shops,
and plenty of brewpubs. And the Admiral Fell Inn is actually a part
of our brand learning. The Admiral Fell is full of character and history
-- every room has a story. Our brand journey begins on Wednesday, September
20, 2006, where I will lead a Brand Foundational session designed for
new gnomes.... catching them up to speed with the fundamentals of brand,
and what we learned in Portland, Oregon last year at the inaugural
brand event. This session will be held on the top floor of the Admiral
Fell, which has a gorgeous view of much of downtown Baltimore. Then
we will have a reception there that evening for all gnomes, where I
will give a sneak preview of what to expect over the next two days,
and all gnomes will get a chance to mingle and meet each other.
Thursday, September 21 begins with breakfast at the hotel's excellent
restaurant, True.
Then we head up to the top floor again for our keynote session with
Terri Langhans titled "What's
Your Story?". Terri has gotten rave reviews for both webinar sessions
she's done with us, and we hear she's even better and more dynamic in
person!
For the second session of the day, we will have a speaker from the
Baltimore Area Convention and Vistors
Association speak about the story of Baltimore, and how they use
that story to get results... which for them means more conventions and
events being held in Baltimore.
After lunch, we will be treated to two more fantastic brand learning
sessions. Our very own Matt Taggart will lead a session about on-brand
service. With so many companies competing on service today, being very
good is no longer good enough. We need to get specific, and we need
to back it up, and Matt is going to show us how.
For the fourth and final session of the day, Sasha ZeBryk will show
us how to work a room like a pro. We're also including Sasha's booklet
with 99 tips and techniques to master the art of mingling.
After a brief break, it's on to the evening activity. I don't want to
give away exactly what Thursday's evening's event is going to be, but
let me just say that it will be an amazing adventure. Let's call it
the Magical Mystery Tour.... I know I can't be completely secretive
about the evening journey... so let me give you the elements that it
will contain: Storytelling (of course), Beer (the third B of the Triple
B), a bit of history (Fells Point is full of history), Beer (did I say
that already?), maybe a ghost or two, which will lead to Bonding (the
second B of the Triple B) as we cling to each other, several Brewpubs
(the source of the beer), the harbor, Prince Charming, dinner, and more
storytelling. And perhaps it will become a story that you will one day
tell to your grandkids.
Bright and early on Friday morning, we have breakfast once again at
the Admiral Fell before piling into our tour busses for the field-trip
portion of our event. Our first stop is Camden
Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, and the first of the modern-retro
ballparks, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. The tour will include
the history and vision of how the park came to be, and include visits
to all parts of the park including the famous warehouse, dugouts, Eutaw
Street, and the club level.
Then it's back on the bus for a tour of Boordy
Vineyards, located just outside the city in Hydes, Maryland. We'll
get a winetasting tour, and enjoy a boxed lunch in the beautiful rolling
hills of Long Green Valley. And of course, we'll also get to hear the
story of how Boordy Vineyards ties into Maryland's story to further
its brand.
Then we drive back to the Admiral Fell, and rest up for the evening's
main event. We begin the evening portion of the event by taking the
water taxi over to Camden Yards, crossing Baltimore's fascinating Inner
Harbor. We then proceed into the warehouse for a pre-game party in the
Championship Cafe. Dinner and beer are included! And then it's over
to our seats behind home plate, with a spectacular view of downtown
Baltimore for our events final activity -- watching a ball game of the
Orioles versus the Minnesota Twins. Another bonding opportunity for
everyone to enjoy. After we are serenaded with a spectacular display
of fireworks, we'll take the water taxi back to the Admiral Fell and
bask in the glory that was the Triple B-Baltimore.
